FALL 2009

ANNUAL MEETING AND AWARDS DINNER

Saturday November 14, 2009

At the Meadow Event Park, Doswell, VA

4:00 pm – Tour of the New Equine Facilities

5:00 – Socializing/Dinner/Annual Meeting/Year End Awards

Directions: Exit I 95 at mile marker 98, the Doswell Exit.  Go east approximately 1 mile to Gate # 6 on the right for the Equestrian Complex on Meadow Farm Road.  If you are only coming for dinner enter at Gate #2 to the left on Rt. 30.

This is a very important meeting.  In addition to electing our officers for next year, we will be deciding on the future of our Fall Horse Show.

This year our show lost $7,500, despite our best efforts to keep costs down.  Our 2009 show had 15% fewer horses and 30% fewer entries than the year before, which already had low turnout.  Participation by club members was also way down in most disciplines.  The Show Committee will have a full report at the meeting.

We do not have the resources for another such show this year.  The club needs to decide if we can put on any kind of show.  We need everyone there for this important decision.

We are meeting at the new Meadow Event Park, for a tour to see if it could work as a venue for us at some point.   After the tour, we will proceed to the new Americraft Pavillion  for the rest of the evening.

Our Slate of Officers for 2010-2011 is:

President – Beryl Herzog, Beaverdam                         Vice President – Martha Allen, Montpelier

Secretary – Timmerie Cohen, Richmond             Treasurer – Josie Thomas, Warrenton

Reporter – Kathy Freise, Beaverdam                        Board – Pam Thomson, McLean
